The Fourth Wall.

Many moons ago I wrote about a split in my core group over the release of D&D 4E.
Today at brunch the reigning DM of the 4E circle told me about his new game starting tonight. What surprised me is that NONE of the other gamers he took with him to 4E are going to be playing in it. All the old 3.5 people have quit. I don't mean to laugh too much here, but shouldn't that be telling you something?
He still stands by his call.
And I still gave him Paizo stuff for his birthday.
Ahhhh.... The Battle (Mostly Won) Continues.

Date: 2011-06-27 05:20 am (UTC)I'm kind of over it now. Our 4e campaign switched systems (to tri-stat, though mostly it doesn't matter and we're really just trying to finish up), and I'll probably pass on any more 4e gaming for a while.
Pathfinder is an interesting phenomenon. How active is the community? I was working on some 3.5e system extensions a while back, and I thought that the time had passed to do anything with it, but if there's a user base out there...
