Silences Ended...
Jan. 3rd, 2006 11:17 pmI don't even remember posting about scoring a cheap sound card and returning my computer to the land of audio bliss (i-tunes was missed!) but it was and I once more sit here in the dimmed light of my pre-bedtime room and try not to make too much noise. That's a good deal better than not being able to make a noise at all.
But really, I am posting a gaming report.
Been ages and I think its interesting to note that the lengths of time between gaming rants and praises almost always include the dark and longest stretches of stress and depression. And in contrast today, I can cite only the most minor of work trauma and otherwise the day at the store was great.
But the game... that was fantastic.
Jakandor...
I can't really say enough good about it. It was a very weird premise but interesting that it was given its three book feature line back aways. Granted I have changed and enriched the world a good deal and may have "improved the recipe" but the setting of lush ruin filled jungles, proud honorbound warriors, and wizard's ancient legacies really hasn't been given enough credit.
Its amazing and I think oddly the alternating between two sides of the same conflict for the players has been a blast. Often I see them as Charonti scholars so sure in their superiority and yet as much as they scream fierce war cries out across the table as Knorr barbarians.
Damn its been fun.
Hope it lasts.
